Our commitment to quality can be found throughout the manufacturing process. In recognition of this, Art Forma holds the prestigious Manufacturing Guild Mark from The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers, an organisation that recognises the best furniture makers in the United Kingdom.

Frames        Art Forma wooden frames are manufactured to the  highest standard from carefully selected, seasoned hardwoods. Our modern wood mill includes a laminating and veneering department. All timber joints are dowelled, screwed and glued using modern adhesives.

Polishing      Our in-house department allows us to offer a colour matching service on all of our exposed wood frames and feet.

Springs       Only the best high carbon steel wire is used in their manufacture and all springs used are made individually by our associate company, Charles Blyth & Company Ltd, whether it be mesh-top spring units, pocket spring units or sinuous springs.

Exclusive Fabrics These are sourced from around the world and vary in texture and design. Fabrics are all hand cut by skilled cutters and are four-way matched, all seams are double-sewn for extra strength. We also provide a Customer’s Own Material (COM) service whereby we will use material sent in by customers subject to it being approved by us as suitable for the particular frame.

Leathers           We use only the best high quality leathers sourced from tanneries across Europe. Each hide is individually selected and inspected to eliminate unacceptable scars and blemishes. However, the beauty of leather is the fact it is a natural product and may vary in colour from hide to hide and have marks which actually improve the individuality of the leather. Again, Customer’s Own Leather (COL) may be used subject to it being acceptable for the model on which it is to be used.

Upholstery       Each piece is individually upholstered by our craftsmen who are trained in-house. They use only the finest filling materials to ensure each piece of Art Forma upholstery gives many years comfort. We regularly receive compliments from customers who are still using their Art Forma sofas and chairs after 25 or 30 years.
